Title: Ophthalmology Research
Our ophthalmology research spans the use of nanoparticles for the treatment of uveitis, dry eye, and glaucoma. We can load combinational drugs into nanoparticles with high loading efficiency and control the release kinetics for a prolonged period. Such combinational drug-loaded nanoparticles showed improved efficacy in the uveitis model compared to commercial drugs. We are also utilizing the nanoparticles for the treatment of dry eye models.
Our computational work spans the patient-specific eye model to understand how the geometrical features can lead to optic nerve head damage and eventually contribute to glaucoma. For ophthalmology research, we are collaborating with clinicians from Bangladesh Eye Hospital.
